Originally from Brooklyn, New York, the experimental rock band Yeasayer first came to attention after appearing at the South By Southwest (SXSW) music & film festival in early 2007.  The band describes their music as "Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel", with most of their live performances often including psychedelic visuals. Since their debut in 2006, Yeasayer has released two studio albums, one live album and one compilation.
